![]() ![]() The rise and fall of FlatOut is a tale only fans of the cult racing series will mourn to, but it should be a familiar tune for most gamers. Despite hitting it big with Guitar Hero III, Neversoft failed to emulate Harmonix’s flair for innovation and the Guitar Hero series quickly went from a barnstorming critical fave to a spent husk. Crash has been sucking in a lungful of dust on the bottom shelf for years now. The blissfully fresh air Crash Bandicoot breathed at the peak of his platforming process, back in the marsupial’s glory days with Naughty Dog, has long since blown away. A shift in development studios has been the ruination of many games, and it’s happened to bigger franchises than FlatOut. It’s immediately obvious what song they’re trying to play, but they’re missing so much of the real thing’s spark you’ll do anything not to listen. IGN ReviewįlatOut 3 is like a bad Bon Jovi cover band. What real harm could they do, building upon such solid foundations? Even if they did a half-baked job of generating new content it’d still be the same, quality game beneath, right? After all, I could draw a moustache on the Mona Lisa and there’d still be a remarkable piece of art behind it. Perhaps Team6 could take Bugbear’s work and fashion a serviceable sequel. Team6 was also behind the dire FlatOut on Wii, which didn’t bode well either, but I was prepared to shelve my cynicism. They seriously dropped the ball with this one! MediEvil Resurrection You would think with the first two games being so awesome that this would be at least kinda close to that but everything about the game sucks for literally no reason.
